Casing Question...cuz Im Dumb

I was talking to this guy on yahoo chat and he was telling me about his casing question...He has some verm/brf cakes he crumbled then put into a straight vermiculite casing... well his first try apparently didnt go too good cuz nothing really happened but the mycelium did spread thru a decent chunk of the casing, so he recrumpled the casing and made another straight verm casing and covered with foil and put into his makeshift terrarium, but this time he says hes getting good mycelium spread in the casing. the whie fuzzy spots are starting to come up but what he wants to know is when should he take the foil off and start giving it light?? should the mycelium completely cover the top layer?? or is there a general guideline as to how much it covers before he opens it up to give it light?? I mean percentage wise?? 40% covered? 50% , 80% hes a good guy so Im trying to be a pal and help him and all...

i waited til i saw about four- five nice sized spots of mycelium. also if you see any spots of mycelium before the 3 day (or before the mycelium is healthy again) cover them up with more vermiculite or whatever you used to case with. when you get those four or five nice spots give it a cold shock if you dont own a heat pad or something that kept the tempurature at around 80. after you cold shock (or lower the temperature some other way) then give it humidity and light. dont give it too much humidity cuz the casing is pretty moist already. since i dont own a humidity guage i just make sure that there are very small water droplets on the sides of the terrarium and i also mist when i fan it.

hey, you got to be genuine thats the name of this game. if you're real, then you aint got nothing to worry about, but if youre synthetic then starting tomorrow you're balls come off!
