Cobweb - harmful?
    #363453 - 07/30/01 08:16 AM (23 years, 6 months ago)

Hi,

It says in Stamets&Chilton for the Cobweb mold in the "Medicinal Effects" section: "None noted." Has this been updated since 1983? Another words,
would you eat the mushrooms that have been (or the cakes of which) have
been infected with the cobweb?

if you have actually gotten healthy looking fruit bodies to grow to maturity, then it may not have even been cobweb mold. i've never been able to get anything to grow with the presence of that mold, until i have wiped it out. regardless, if the shrooms look good, they'll probably be fine. keep asking around, give one a try, and go from there. usually if the shroom looks healthy, it is healthy.

hope that helps.
