+pressure inline air filters
    #361853 - 07/27/01 07:36 AM (15 years, 4 months ago)

I'm stumped on thinking of ways to rig something like this using filter discs. 'Could just go crazy w/ the liquid nail, but would rather have something more professional looking that the filter could be easily changed. Any ideas? Prob is, as usual, you have to buy a lifetime supply. Can't get just one. Noooooooooo sir. Otherwise, I'd just purchase.

I don't know about "professional" but maybe this could be functional. Perhaps too primitive for
what you're looking for.
It is a tupperware cup. LOCKING lid. If you drill a hole at each end and silicon glue
a tubing connector at each end you'd have the "cup" part. Then cut the filter disc(s)
to the size of the lid and slip just inside the lid.
. Snap off the lid to change the filter. Juussss thinkin. k. If you need help finding
tupperware cup.. I'll look for you. Will e you a pic, since I don't know how to upload it.

hahaha.. The garage is filled w/ the stuff. The ex left it w/ me as a monument to our failure.

Thx for the tip. I thought about cutting to the size of a container, but the tupp lids fit below the rim. So putting a disc on the rim would interfere w/ it closing. Similarly.. also considered a similar setup using a small plastic pop bottle. Fit outlet to cap, put filter in cap and screw on tightly. Also need to affix innlet to bottle somehow. This actually might work OK, but would look like hell. I guess it could all be put inside a larger, more asthetically pleasing, container.

Has anyone pumped air through a 99.97 filter disc? Will an aquarium pump cut the mustard? Compressors are noisy.

KNow anyone that has a nebulizer? ( med equip for severe asthma sufferers)
its a compressor.and yea it's noisy ..but not as
noisy as a BIG compressor.. like for painting, plus it's not going to be continually running.
Actually I have one. I can try it and let you know. I'll see if a disk will fit in the medicine cup.
It really pushes alot of air and fast.
Damn that would be too easy. Im going to go and try it right now..
Also.. this may sound totally lame..
but as I am trying to figure out what to use for air as well.. how about just
wrapping a filter disk around the fish pump bubbler and rubberbanding it?
So far the air tek from Blushroom( lil shop) is still my first choice.. but I did like that simulated
inline hepa filter idea alot.
