fruiting clone - will fruits resemble the master ?
    #3602230 - 01/09/05 06:57 AM (11 years, 10 months ago)

since i've been getting into cloning recently,
i have been wondering about some things.

i know, that u clone the actual genetics of the mushroom itself,
talking its look and size and so on, but i kept wondering about
actually fruiting spawn you nocked up using a clone.

would the resulting fruits, if grown on the same media,
in the same conditions, actually all resemble the master?

saying, a stupid example, you cloned a pink octagon 5 inch tall shroom,
would all the fruits also be pink octagon 5 inch tallers  ?

or would the cloned genetic just give one a more even flush
but the fruits wont resemble the 'master' that much?

oh and one concerning the substrate, if the master was grown on straw,
would it do better on a straw/dung mix than just on plain straw
or could this 'new substrate' irritate the clone and wont produce as
good as the master?

heh u can see im greedy for knowlege,
have a nice sunday !

Good genetics are important to all living things. I've read it's a good idea to switch the substrate from time to time. Where is this pink octaganal mushroom you speak of, lol-j/k? GL

Yes, if.

I bet though that it will be impossible for you to replicate the conditions 100% for all parts of the substrate. (not taking into account the random mutations of cells that can happen anytime.....)

allright, thats just about the information i was hoping for.

concerning the substrate, plain straw shouldnt be too hard to do again,
but the ph adjustment may be nearly impossible to create again since i do not know
how much buffer agent i added.

anyway, now since this has been cleared, concerning the substrate.

if the master was cultivated on plain straw,
should it do better/worse if the next substrate is manure/straw mix
or is this impossible to say?

Overall yes they will resemble the master. You of course will see smaller ones and larger ones as the fruitbodies compete for nutes and also by the influence of the pinset. GL
