sunflower seeds

i was wondering if any body has tried to use sunflower seeds in place of rye berries as always any input is appreciated

I have used Pennington's Wild Finch Seed and the sunflower seeds do not seem to colonize. I am not sure if a whole jar of sunflower seeds would do anything for you. If you try it use already shelled seeds not seeds in a shell.

for what i heard sunflower seeds contaminates very easily...but no direct experience....

with mixed birdseed, yes..
it does colonize, and has the added benifit of high levels of potential potency potentiators..
but, its oily and high in nutrients.. so could help contam out...
