Where do I get it? Is the rye grass seed that they sell at local nurseries loaded with fungicides and/or preservatives?

I think you mean rye.
Rye grass seed is the seeds used to sowe a lawn.
Some are treated, some are not. It should state on the packaging.

that's the problem-I went to home depot(I'm in Cali) and every brand of grass seed did not specify whether there was any fungicide in it.
I was wondering if anyone can name some common stores that carry organic rye grass seed.
And there's definitely a difference between rye berries and rye grass seed.

The rye-grass seed in Germany contains no fungicide or the like, because about 30 % of it, after sowing it, will be eaten by birds. So I took the cheapest in the store and had no problems with colonization. The german laws oblidge to state if the seed are treated with fungicides. But of course I'm speaking of Germany, every country is different, especially the USA is much more lax about ecology, but this is another topic...
If you are not sure about the seed you can buy, get a small
amount and test it. If it works good, then get a big amount. Just sterilze and innoculate. If the mycellium grows, then you know it isn't treated...
If there is a organic rye-grass seed, it will be expensive and maybe as good as the cheapest one...

The scientific name for rye grass seed is Lolium perenne.
this how the plant looks
A friend of me has used different kinds of grass seed mixtures for sclerotia production with great succes. Other grass species will probably work just as well.
I personally think it has to do with the the nutritional composition of grass seed (more cellulose, less starch than most grains).
We buy our rye grass seed from an animal feed store. The stuff is ridicilously cheap. It's sold there as bird feeding.

Walmart has rye grass seed..."annual" & "perennial".
The "perennial" is treated with fungicides.
So, buy the "annual"...pure seed, nothing added.

could rye grass seed be supplemented with phalaris grass seed (contains triptamine precursors) to boost potency of yields?
