Can u air dry only?

Is it ok to air dry only?Or do u have to use Damp Rid,Damp-Be-Gone,Desacant.I have none of these things on hand.I was going to air dry in front of a fan,would this be ok,how long will they last like this?Could someone please tell me were to get some of the drying agents listed above>THANKS TO ALL WHO COME HERE...

i use to air dry with a fan to begin with, and after i thought they were all dry i put them in a bag, but all the moisture was not gone and the mushrooms got soggy, its better to just spend the 3$ for the dessicant, fan dry for 24 hours, place in dessicant chamber until cracker dry, and store in co2. you can probably find damp-rid or a similar product at the grocery store or hardware store.

you can buy dehumidifier "refills" (desicant) at k-mart for about $1.50. look near the humidfiers/airfilters etc.

You can air dry only too, but you mught not(depending on the humidity in the air) get cracker dry results.
I normally preedry for 24 hours(at 60%humidity), if you only airdry, you might leave them twice that time.

Wal-Mart carries Damp Rid containers for like $2.69. i dont think the shrooms will store nearly as long if you only fan dry. itll be hard to get the moisture totally out of them depending on the ambient humidity of the room your working in.
