Automated - Incubator - fruiting chamber - cold shock capable - all in 1

Foaf took a working "frost free" refrigerator & disabled the top freezer unit. Placed thermostat controlled heating wires in the bottom large compartment & thermostat sensor. Rigged freezer compartment to hold a about a 9 gallon size tub of water. He plans to float a mist maker in the tub. He also rigged so that the water container can be refilled externally.

He vented top compartment into the bottom one (internal fan already existed inside it). Also, installed drain in bottom compartment & is about 80% done.

Once done, the BOX should be capable of almost full automation, including lights, humidity, temperature range of 30 to 90F & outside hepa filtered air exchange. Heat and/or cold shock capable.

Guts from electric blanket (requires some scissor work) & controls.
Can be had at Thrift Stores around $5. Since they can be run through a washer, they are safe in high RH enviro. I see no reason why it wouldnt work fot a Martha.

Well, the "BOX" is about there. A little tuning & I guess my FOAF will have to do a grow log ASAP.

Yup, those are STAINLESS STEEL PANS. Reason being, you can tinfoil wrap & dry heat sterilize in the oven 400F - 1 hour.

nice call on the fridge,
but concerning the pans thats more or less not really required.

wiping their surface down with ipa properly does the job
talking sterilisation quite right.

True. But..... plastic pans over time scratch up & harbor comtams, in the roughed up area's. True again, alc swab will kill contams - if you apply enough. I just like these SS pans because they are a great size, clean out easy & fit in this BOX & the dishwasher. More sterile procedure & treatment - is better than less.

lol mate, gave me a good laugh on that, but actually i use IPA
even though StrohRum is a prime product of Austria.

heres some nice 80% rum - even just looking at the lable gives me headaches :wink:

awesome, but u could totally do the same thing, if not better with say some threaded metal pipes and shelves hung from chains and wrapped in the 2 mm think polypropylene plastic sheets u use for covering stuff while painting....

friges are cool though... and they look more legitmate.
