Why you like fruiting chamber so cold?

I always see people post how you should keep your fruiting chambers around room temp. (70-75)...

My pins were forming but growing VERY slow...(1 1/2" in 6 days)

I put the fruiting chamber in the incubation closet where the temp is 84....and the shrooms grew 5" in one night

Question is.....why would colder be better...?

Wouldn't it just be better to cold shock...then bring temps back up for fruiting?

The colder temps can help to inhibit contamination.

Cakes/casing that are well colonized and the mycleium has a good strong network then contams are rare. Once in the fruiting chamber the mycelium should be strong and contams are not that big of a problem.

Maybe fruits like cooler temps, im not sure....

He dont seem to be concern with contams guys.

Mycelium likes warmer temps for colonization, an optimal temps are 84-86. As for fruiting it is best at 74-77. Fruiting is initiated with a sudden drop in temps, air exchange and light. So when you move your cake/casings from incubation to fruiting you must lower your temps.
