 No pins on cakes

About a week and a half ago I birthed 4 cakes. I used the pftek to grow the mycelium I used the hawaiian strain from PF, and put the cakes in a terraium made from a plastic container with the lid cut off and clear poly film which the lid fits over. Airtight. Perlite on the bottom and the cakes about two inches off the perlite on wire screen. The temp is a constant 72 degrees and the humidty seems right. Fine moisture condescention on the sides of the container and they get a few hours of diffused light a day. I haven't seen any pins forming yet, how long would I have to wait or should I attempt to do a case and try that? The cakes have gotten fluffy and cottony towards the bottoms. I did case one cake and that hasent pinned either yet but the mycelium in that is starting to spread out on the top. Any ideas?

i'm haveing this same problem. only the white fuzz went flat there are some small pin heads that formed but they have not grown. in 2 or 3 days. i thought they may be too dry so i placed them on the perlite last ngiht and then placed them on damp verm this morning. was this correct to do? anything else i should be doining.
They are thai KS and GT strains basicaly the same setup as above. 97-100% humdity temp goes between 79-85 degrees. i fan 2 times a day and there are 4 cakes.

Your situation could be diffrent from nine but I had the same problem. I dunked for 15 hours and now every thing is back on track.

i got the same thing no pins a week after birthing....when you say dunk...submerge the cakes in distilled water...for 15 hrs..than replace the cakes back in the terrium.....at proper temps..and humidity.....for pinning.....just to clarify....???????

I have decided not to dunk them i noticed about 30 mins ago after work that there is a nice 1/2 inch pin coming out of one of the cakes and it was nto there this morning.
What i did do though was to increase my lighting. insted of useing a little light i put a florecent light above them i also increased the lighting time from 8 hours to 12.
I ahve been doing this for 2 days so i thin i will keep that up and dunk after the first flush.

Hey guess what?! I fanned the hell out of my terarium last night and I checked them today after work and I have three little shrooms growing on one cake and all sorts of pinheads on the others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two days before my 47 birthday and I allready got my birthday present!
