yes, your cake is psycoactive. You said that there are little balls on the mycellium? That sounds to me like pinning. If you birthed the cakes as soon as they were 100% than a week to see pins is no problem. Be patient and thing will happen. Just remember not to handle or mess with the cakes too much.

yes. Mycellium is psychoactive by itself. You probably just bruised the cakes where the perlite hit. You probably wot get any pinning where they bruised. but as long your conditions are ok, i would expect them to begin pinning any day now.

With regard to this subject I have some cakes that have begun to fruit yet on some of them there is some blue coloring on the cake, specifically near the base of the largest fruits. Has anyone seen this before? Is it contamination or bruising?

I also have water droplets forming on many pinheads; is this a bad thing? Does it increase chances for air-borne contaminants?

bluing is either bruise or too dry.
water droplets are bad.
use paper towel to daub gently.
