The Canadian Excuse: "I'm Snowed In, eh!"
    #3535162 -

Well looks like I get a day off from work! WOOHOOOOOO!!!

My ride to work showed up about 8:40am this morning and slid to a stop in front of my driveway...where his car remained for the next half hour, only moving a few feet ahead. Some of the neighbours came out to help push, and we got it out of the way of my driveway (in case anyone else in the house needs to get out) but could not get it any further. The road is solid ice underneath a foot of fresh snow.

We came in to rest, warm up, and have a tea...then headed back out. Pointer: SAND UNDER THE TIRES WORKS WONDERS, ALWAYS

So we got the car to move again, but it came to a halt another 50 meters down the road. It sat there for another half hour until we FINALLY got it moving again, but by this point we decided the trek to work wasn't such a good idea!

So here I am, with a whole day to chill out and relax

You could still see the grass, when I went to bed last night...

It snowed on Monday here in Massachusetts so right now we have a couple inches on the ground, that's about it. I don't think we are getting any more any time soon.

Well it finally stopped snowing, for now. It took me an hour to do...but finally the driveway is clear!

Note to fellow computer super-geeks: manual snow removal is an excellent workout for those of us who sit on our asses all day

Hah Trendal, I was just thinking "we don't have that much snow here do we?", then I looked out the window.

Damn it snowed a lot last night.

I'm in London right now.

Yeah, they've been plowed. My street technically turns into Richmond, and it's fairly close to downtown so I think they get to it pretty early.
