that was the funniest clip i've seen in a long time. the scary part is that its...like you all said...well CNN is ...considered a reliable respected news source by most americans. certianly not ME. i dotn really watch the news because its highly filtered. i learn from word of mouth or other resourses, but...hey...we love our canadians. i dont know who said it, but canada is like a loft appartment above a really good party. i consider them like a territory of america. friendly locals who come down like winter texans and say hey once in a while. we want your trees btw. in any case, i love our canadians. i've been to quebec and yall have some great furs there. and the looney? ya gotta love the looney. more power to you candian folks up there , dontcha know. we love ya =D and BC? nuff said. watch out where those huskies go and dont you eat that yellow snow =D

I consider myself a very patriotic American.  I am proud of my country and IMO the form of government that was established here two centuries ago is superior to any other system created by man up to this point.  Unfortunately, I also feel that in recent times (the last 50 years or so) the Constitution of the United States has been bastardized and there is a lot of shit that goes on here that pisses me off.  But I am still proud of my country and I wouldn't choose to live anywhere else.

As an American I try to keep my political views to myself at places such as the Shroomery.  Deny it if you want but it has become almost trendy to hate America and blame the USA for all the worlds problems.  And as an American I just keep to myself and bite my tongue most of the time.  I'm not saying we don't have our problems just like everyone else, but America is treated unfairly on the world stage.

All that being said, I find it funny how reactive you Canadians are over a stupid "news" clip like that.  Ann Coulter and Tucker Carlson are just shock-jock equivalents of political commentators and no one with any common sense takes them seriously.  They say things just to get a rise out of people, and it is obviously working with you people.

As one who hears crap like this about his own contry on a regular basis let me give you some advice; ignore it and move on.  You let stupid shit like this bother you and you are no better than the idiots saying it.  Like water off a ducks back, my friends.

BTW, I love Canada and all my Canadian friends, as does everyone else I know here.  Can I come dogsledding some time? :smirk:

yep i agree with you.  i often laugh at things about my country....cause lets face it there is always a sliver of truth behind a joke.  they rarely pop up from no where.  up north we do hvae lots of dogsledding.  some people do live in igloos up there, although not so much anymore, and our government is abuot as stupid, lazy and spineless as they come.  to me we are fair game :smile:

but the states earned its bashings as well....in my opinion at least.  in person im just as critical, if not moreso, on my own country than americans.  we seem to want to bullshit around making huge long senseless stories to cover shit up.  yall are jsu tmore like, fuck off and live with it.

dont get me wrong i still hate both our governments with a passion.  and lots of our citizens are complete morons, or mayeb just dont care about shit outside their bubble.

CBC has their fare share of america "bashing".  all in good fun and they usually keep it above the belt.  and they have all those on comedy shows.

It goes without saying Canada and Europe get their rocks off by bashing the average American. We are called lazy, fat, ignorant. arrogant...etc. Even worse than that is the bashing of the American south as rednecks, hicks, bible-thumpers...etc.

American tourists are being harassed in europe. In order for Canada to uphold their eurotrash wannabe image, they bash Americans just the same so they will be accepted in European liberal culture.

What the funny thing is, most Americans truly do not care! But when we decide to play back a bit... with an obvious parody, you canucks get your panies in a bunch. Grow up! You smashed a doll of our president, and we made fun of you for being sled-drivers. I don't see any posts crying about your extreme hate for us.

I'm damn proud of my country and what is how it has grown over the years. With the exception of some b.s. in the past few years, I couldn't be happier with wher I live. It's just the new cool thing to bash the United States, and everyone is jumping on the wagon. Though I feel some of it is done for a good reason, lots of it is done just b/c it's the thing to do thes days.

People can talk all the shit they want (ironically, while most of them are receiving foreign aid or benefits from free trade w/ us), but at the end of the day most will be begging us for money in the wake of a disaster (see tsunami).

Back to the point, Coulter and Carlson are thick cunts who tell their view slanted to an extremem. Both have agendas, and it's blatently obvious. Don't worry about them, they're not a cross-section of the US population.

people arnt tolerant at all.  but much of what your government/buisnesses do certainly doesnt sit right with me.  i'll agree with american bashing is a bandwagon thing.  but it isnt coming unearned.  the thing is there is jsut so much of it (nothing big jsut lots of no bodies) it drowns out teh other bashing...believe me there is MORE canada bashing everywhere i go than america....after all our government affects us more than yours affects us. 

things like "free" trade puts a very sour taste in canucks mouth with americans.  but our gov and companies are jsut as much to blame for allowing it.
