Here some more new pics of the same mushies as before.Figured I'd break it up into two parts, so that the photos wouldn't take so long to pull up on everyones computers.

Sorry about the big-ass pics. These mushrooms are small and I wanted to get a closeup of the gills, so that maybe it could help with an ID.

Is there any bluing in those mushrooms?? It kinda looks like it in a few pics, but its hard to tell if its really blue or not. I'm not sure if I've asked already, but do they have a seperable pellicle?

LK, they do have a separable gelatinous pellicle when young. The caps are fairly sticky when they are fresh.
They are growing on hardwood mulch. Mostly oak from the smell of it.Probably some maple and beech mixed in it also, but it 's mostly oak.I won't use conifer mulch, because it doesn't seem to beneifit my plants as good as hardwood.
These mushrooms are out a little earlier than last year. They didn't start popping up last year until the end of July and they lasted off and on through fall. We've just had a lot of rain (more than usual) this year, so maybe that's why they're out early. Course they could've been out late last year.Hell, I just started finding'em last year.

Lizard King, I admire the fact that you take the time to use your knowledge to add help and aid folks here. Doo has a unique find. I/we have been contemplating an identification on this species for awhile now. The last pic posted resembles young Ps. cyanescens in a very positive way. The genus Psilocybe has many species that look this way when young.
And given the fact that it has a seperable gelatinous pellicle, blueing(I totally believe Doo on this) and a purple-brown spore print, ???????
Thanks for recognizing this is not NAEMATOLOMA DISPERSUM and the fact that it DOES NOT grow in North Carolina.
It would also be very easy to pass this off as a Naeomatoloma dispersum ally, or a very similar species in the Naematoloma family that looks the same, grows the same, and simply cannot be a Psilocybe. WRONG
This is a very important mushroom, period.
Who'd of thought that Lizard King had Ps. Weilli growing in his path of existence? No one, until maybe MJ approved it. Now, everyone believes it.
Let's give this mushroom a chance and more power to Doo and his mushroom!
Stay cool!-Levi7.
