Boiling/Steam sterilization with Micron Magick

How would one go about boiling their jars using Micron Magic filter discs..or any other filter discs for that matter? Leave the lids loose or tight? I would think that it wouldn't matter much with filter discs. Am I correct? I was planning on using them in place of the metal jar lids altogether and just screwing the bands down snug over the filter discs. Then covering with aluminum foil tightly to keep water from splashing on top. Sound good?

That works like a charm, did some up last night with no problems.
Tired of pimping yourself on the corner to afford spores? Well throw out that red dress and go to the FSR, for spores even you can afford.

When innoculating with this way should the needle be put through the disc and another added or should the disc be lifted slightly then resealed?
i would think both would leave it open to contams but puttign holes would leave it exposed longer

If you're in a completely sterile environment, i.e. flow hood, then you can lift up the filter and innoc. that way, if not then you can do one of two things:
1. stick syringe through filter then place another filter directly on top of the first, immediately after pulling out needle(see method at the Micron Magick website)
2. Have a peice of tape ready and cover the syringe whole with a small peice of tape. air can still get through the filter around the tap but not through the filter with the tape.
Any of these ways will work with good results.
