Pre-sterilized Micron Magick Jars

My friend recieved some pre-sterilized substrate jars and there were no holes drilled in the lid. Would it ruin the substrate if holes were drilled now?
Thanks

No but you'll need to re-sterilize the jars most likely. I don't see how you could drill into them and not contaminate them, no matter what precautions you take.

Id email the company to make see if they were supposed to be holed before you got them. I got some presterilized containers from "www.sporetradingpost.com" and they already had holes ready for me. If you are stuck with the jars I would recommend using 97% H2o2 and some cotton balls to sterilize. Rub off a bottle, rub down the nail, poke hole, repeat. Make sure that you dont rub off the lids until you are ready to poke holes in them, and make sure you rub the nail before each hole and of course use a new cotton ball for each rub down.

I don't see how you could re-sterilize the jars without knocking off the water ratio--assuming it was correct when you received them.
I'd poke holes as the last respondant said.
You should be fine.

Thanks guys
I emailed the co. and they told me since it had filter disks, I could just take off the lid and innoculate through the filter disk, then put the lid back on.

this is how I do my jars too.....no holes in the lids.....use a filter disc and inoc through the filter disc.
just hold on to the jar good so that the filter disc doesn't come loose when you are inoculating your jars.....hold onto it....and inject with one hand.
good luck!
