Micron Magick Filter Discs

does anybody out there use Micron Magick Filter Discs or know somebody who does? what do they think of them?

a friend of a friend's great great aunt's walrus used them and they work like a charm. they allow proper air exchange but filter airborne contams out....now nothing is ever 100% foolproof but combine these discs with the dry verm layer and you've just reduced your risks of getting contamination considerably...these discs are like bouncers at a club...letting only the VIP spores in and keeping the loser contams out...

the walrus was very impressed...

I use them but i never had an added verm layer and i was fine

Do they really fend off contams that much for us pf tek users?

Yes. The true benifit to using MMFDs with a BRF cake it that you're not limited to 4 nail holes for gas exchange. You can no easily use a plastic lid with 3/8 to 1/2 hole drilled in it and thus speeds up the colonization times.

Yeah, filter disks are the shit.  But instead of paying a rediculously high porice for what are most likely just tyvek disks, go get some tyvek in envelope form from the PO and cut it down to size.  :smile:
