cakes directly on hydroton?

Is that ok? what if the bubbling water touches the bottom of the cake in the pmp? also, how does this sound- 50 qt. rubbermaid with 3 inches of hydroton filled with a little over 2 1/2 inches of water. will this produce enough humidity?

lower the water level just a smidgen. also, get those cakes off of the hydroton, they'll get waterlogged and soggy.

use either the tops of the jars... or if you plan on redoing the jars right away, use something like a butter tub lid... anything to separate it from the hydroton. :smile:

Yeah listen to Beetle and ZeroArmy. I use those plastic storage jar caps where you buy your canning jars they work perfect for the double end casing tek. GL
