most shrooms abort on my cakes: why?

i've got PF style cakes, but they are from pint jars, not 1/2 pints. it's P. cubensis(B+). i can get them to fruit with no problem. but the mushrooms abort after about 2 to 4 days. i'm humidifying using wet perlite and i have my temp set at 83 degrees F. my chamber is a plastic tupperware tub about 24"x18"x12". i don't have a humidity gage, but from what i've learned, it's about 95-100% (i go by the amount of condensation i see on the sides of the container). got any ideas about what's making them abort?

In a nutshell, once they begin to pin, lower the humidity a bit.

You definately need to fan, if your not already, a drop in humidity and a slight drop in temp might help too.
Tired of pimping yourself on the corner to afford spores? Well throw out that red dress and go to the FSR, for spores even you can afford.

It's like a science project GuineaWop. Did you have any success growing sea monkeys? It's not much harder if you have what it takes to be sterile and persistent. And it shouldn't cost you more than the price of a good spore syringe. All the rest of the equipment is dirt cheap or can be found at thrift shops, etc. Jars, flours, vermiculite, these things cost pennies!
Don't give up or be discouraged by peoples questions. That is what this place is for, it's a place to ask. For every person who has a problem there are a hundred more success stories that go untold because this really isn't the place to tell the.
Pass me the pipe, I'm outa here!

here's my logic. i've put about $100 into my setup. where i'm from, i'll have to spend $25 to $35 for an eighth of shrooms. so if i can trip 5 time off of what i grow, then i just saved myself 25 bucks. and the time i spend working on growing them is a pleasure. it's my hobby. it's fun to know that i created something that i can party with out of basically nothing. and if time is money, then the time i put into it is well spent money just to know that what i've just eaten is completely safe, not some shrooms from a dealer who probably doesn't care about contamination just to make a buck.
