I personally believe if your not really stupid, that you can do the SOS easily if you really read the directions and ask some questions that you may have. Also read the MMGG to understand everything even better, including terrainium setup, ect. SOS is only for use if your going to have contaminates. I think regular casing is a better simpler idea. It depends on what you think you can do. And only case if you have a pressure cooker or can use the microwave to sterilize. Also if your looking for a crapload of shrooms your best bet is to goto www.sporeworks.com and use workmans new tek that uses birdseeds (you need a pressurecooker). Using birdseed in quart jars and then casing is what it takes to get some quantity. Good luck. -mercktrip p.s. how old are you, lol, "How much more better and how much more fruits..." haha...hey try taking grammer in school... just kidding.[This message has been edited by MerckTrip (edited May 17, 2000).]

Yeah, I have a pressure cooker and all that good stuff. And I've got 11 cakes growing perfect with no Contams, and I've got 20 cakes that are in my incubator. 8 or so of those are almost ready to be birthed or cased or what ever I decide to do. I was just wondering if SOS was worth trying. If it produces a few more shrooms then the cakes, then I was going to do a few cakes like that, and on my later batches try some REAL casing. Baby steps.

Hey Mercktrip, with that tek you mentioned at sporeworks.com (which I read) do i have to have an "agar wedge" to put in my jar, and can I use a cotton ball to stick in the hole instead of nylon or polyester floss?

With the SOS tek I roughly doubled my yeild as oposed to not casing. I cased 5 cakes in 10 solo cups, cased 3 cakes together is a large casing using foil pans, and left 3 cakes uncased. Got great results for the 1st flush out of the sos cups. Not as many shrooms per square inch as the larger casing but more shrooms per cake. Both casing blew away the uncased cakes in yeild.

Hey MerckTrip-before you hassle other people about grammer, why don't you get your own shit together. "Your" is possesive, the contraction of "you are" is actually "you're" NOT "your". I normally don't harrass people about spelling, but since you brought it up.... PS just kidding....LOL....
