my friend has 5 cakes that have produced some shrooms and have already been picked. The cakes also have alot of small blackhead shrooms. She's not seeing any new healthy shrooms coming forth.does she have to remove all shrooms (aborts and healthy)to instigate a second flush of healthy shrooms. She knows the small ones are potent and should keep them but she was wanting more of the healthy looking shroomies. Her setup is pf tek standard. 20 gal tank ect..

you should have harvested all the shrooms and aborts at once in your 1st flush. pick them all and dunk it.

First pluck all those abhorts with tweezers or something then submerse the cakes in water for 12 hours... I put a plate gently over the top and something that weighs a little they will float otherwise... after 12 hours remove the cakes and dab the excess water off with tissue paper and place back in terrarium. In a few days you`ll see the magic of dunking cakes.... I was shocked at how many babies popped out of what I thought were goner cakes... good luck

i scrape all pins off with a razor; very easy and fast. then put the cake back in the jar you colonized it in (1/2 pint or quart or whatever) it should be smaller now because its probably a lot drier. fill it right to the top w/ water and put on a lid w/ no holes in it. if it has holes tape the holes off. make sure you wash/sterilize the jars beforehand but i didnt use boiled water; just tap water but boiled (and cooled) would probably be better. after 12 hours remove the lid and flip your cake over on a paper towel. stick a half of a straw down the center just about halfway, maybe a littlle more. now fill the straw with boiled water and stick that in your terrarium right directly on top of the wet perlite. try that with at least one of your cakes and let me know how your flush goes.
