Split popcorn?

I've been following this tek ( http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/25049 ) and at around 40min of simmering I noticed that a large amount of my popcorn are split. Can I still use it?

Yes but I just read in the advanced cultivation forum that split popcorn has higher contam risks. On the other hand now the popcorn is really soaked with water which is good, let them drip of 30 mins or so.
Otherwise youll get water in the bottom of the jars which is no good.
Adding a little verm to the jar (or a tiny layer at the bottom) can help.
