Why the hell was this directed at me?!

Re: Thanks Bush voters [Re: EonTan]

But since it was addressed to me...

Quote:
We invaded Iraq becasue they failed to live up to their Agrements about disarming. We did not know 100% if he did or didn't have WMD. What we did know is that for a decade he Avoided living up to his agreements 100%, and the UN was not interested in holding him accountable 100%.

I agree.

Quote:
It is clear that you sided with the UN position at the time of invasion.

Me?! What? Do you mean me, my country or something else?

Quote:
It is clear that a large percentage of Americans agree with you, and a large percentage of the world. What seems to be totally missed by you is the MAJORITY of AMERICANS supported and continue to support Our efforts. Since Americans control American policy, and American policy is controlled by a majority VOTE, and not by some single person on there own private crusade, your position is acknowledged, disagreed with, and ignored.

To be honest, I doubt the American people would have decided to go to war with Iraq without a fair bit of prodding from their elected "representatives". My position is nothing to do with US policy, I live in the UK. And you don't know my position. I didn't tell you my position. I was just pointing out the flaws in that other guy's reasoning.

Quote:
America will not be attacked.

Time will tell. Personally I think Bush increases your chances of this happenning.

Quote:
Sorry if it makes you nervous, but you all make us nervous constantly day in and day out with your blame of America for your own populaitons inability to create a WORKABLE governmnet to govern yourselves

Heh...you have issues man. Seriously. I didn't even state my position on the Iraq war and I get all this?! And how, exactly, is my government less workable than yours? And when did I blame America for this supposed unworkability?

Quote:
I hear alot about American foreighn policy, but our foreighn policy is only as strong as it's tolerance by foreighn governmnets. Since governmnets represent the populaiotns they govern, they blame ultimately resides in the populaiton of that nation.

This is a convoluted sentence...are you trying to say that Americans are responsible for American foreign policy. I'd say they are about 51% responsible.

Quote:
Blame muslims for muslim deaths in muslim countries

Heh, because that makes sense doesn't it. Would you blame muslims for all murders committed in muslim countries? You make no sense.

Quote:
Iraq is a nation of Muslim majority. If the people were unhappy with their governmnet, they should have done something themselves. They didn't. When a nation with the resources to do something felt it had too, we did.

Heh, that's right. You felt you had to. To save those poor Kurds. If you think that was even the stated reason for war, you're nuts.

Quote:
The world is becoming more and more delusional. No one takes responsibility for themselves any more. Always looking to blame someone else for problems.

Just like those muslims are responsible for all muslim deaths in their country?

Quote:
How do you look yourself in the mirror every day when you start blaming another country for having to remove your leaders becasue they possed a threat to nations outside your borders.

Well, 1) you didn't have to remove Saddam, you just felt like it. 2) It's pretty clear that Iraq didn't pose a threat to any nation.

Quote:
Those opposed to war with Iraq are of the mindset that Iraq is not responsible for it's own behavior

Heh, yeah that's right. That's exactly what we think. Don't be so stupid. Those of us who were opposed to the war were opposed because it was an illegal war waged on dodgy intelligence for dubious reasons. If you're trying to use the humanitarian justification, don't. If us kind countries were in the business of helping people there are far more respressive regimes than Saddam's was.

Quote:
This is Iraqs ultimate failure. They did not prove to the UN that they disarmed.

True.

Quote:
The UN choose to not make them, and instead decided it would blame the USA for Iraqs failures.

In what way did the UN blame the US for Iraq's failures?

Quote:
GET IT.

Get a grip.

Quote:
Saadam had WMD

THe intelligence services of the UK disagree, I think they probably know more than you, to be honest.

Quote:
You would blame America for stravation in Africa

You're fucking nuts. You really are fucking nuts. How you managed to divine that from my post I will never know. Seek counselling.

Quote:
Do you blame the parents of the starving children for having kids when they can't feed themselves?

WHAT?!

I had to respond to someones name, yours was the one that posted last, so it was yours That I chose.

YOU refers to anyone who read my post and disagreed with the PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY CONCEPT.

Since you chose to respond though here it is.

To be honest you don't know a damn thing about the American people. Don't assume anything.

America will not be attacked means IF YOU DO WE FIGHT BACK.

Non workable governmnets was not aimed at WESTERN civilizations, like your beloved UK. I was referring to those non-workable Nations in the third world that seem to blame all of their problems on the USA.

No I am trying to say Americans are 100% responsible for our Foreighn policy, a point that seems to miss YOU and every other person who thinks they understand American politics. Being a citizen of America means you have to take responsibility for it. WE participate in a two party system. If you are 18 years old, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF AMERICAN POLICY REGARDLESS OF IF YOU VOTE OR DON"T OR WHO YOU VOTE FOR. If you don't like being responsible you leave America. GET IT.

Being a citizen of any NATION this is implied. You are like those who refuse to accept responsibility. The old I didn't vote for him so I am free of responsibility. We don't hate Americans just American foreighn policy. THEY ARE THE SAME. GET IT.

I blame for IRAQIS FOr IRAQS policy. I blame the ENGLISH for UK ploicy. I blame Muslims for Muslim policy. GET IT. I blame Americans for American policy.

The only innocents are Minors, as defined by the nation they live in. GET IT.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOr THE NATIONS YOU CHOOSE TO LIVE IN. GET IT. Iraqis choose to live in IRAQ, they are responsible for their governmnets actions. How you get to ME wanting to save kurds is beyond me. The reason for war was Iraqi non-compliance with PUBLIC DISARMING, and the UN not choosing to enforce compliance. The USA felt it was important enough to do so. So did the UK.

It's clear to you that Iraq did not pose a threat. To me Iraq was the biggest threat on the planet to global security. You had a Dictator who lost a war, agreed to terms, and failed to live up to them. The terms were based on Disarming of WMD. You are saying that this was unimportant becasue at the time of Invasion he possed none. What about if he was allowed to remain in power, and he began to develope them at a later date, when supervision no longer was mandated, becasue the UN choose not to hold him accountable, and lifted sanctions, and eased restrictions. GET IT.

The intelligence was dubious because IRAQ failed to comply. If they did comply there would have been no doubt that they were disarmed. THAT IS WHY WE WENT TO WAR, and it is you and every one who opposed it calling it illegal, not me.

The UN is blaming the USA like you are, ILLEGAL wars. If you agree Iraq failed to comply, HOW in the world can you not be for the WAR. WMD, non compliance, agressive behavior. WE only knew for sure after the war. Or don't you remember that. Go ask ISrael if they feel like Saadam is a threat. You do remember him lobbing missles at them during the last war, even though they were not part of the coalition to remove IRAQ form Kuwait.

I am glad that you feel something has drastically changed in the last ten years, that somehow lessened the threat Iraq posed to the region, and the world. THEY STARTED THE WAR. The USA and the UK and their allies finished it.

Since you choose to bring up UK intelligence. WHY DID YOU GUYS GET INVOLVED THEN? If your intelligence was so dead right, how come they failed to convince your LEADER to not get involved? Or do you believe the hype that he was just Romantically infatuated with BUSH.

Africans are starving and dying every day. Who is to blame? Was just a question, nothing to get worked up about.

I'm not nuts, I just don't see the world as peaceful. The majority of my ancestors didn't make it out of Europe.

I am not for getting rid of Saadam for what he did in IRAQ. I am for getting rid of him for wahat he did outside IRAQ, and what he did not do after being removed from Kuwait. It isn't brain science, but it wasn't speculation either. WE KNOW HE DId NOT COMPLY, you admit it.

What would you think the best course of action would have been to hold Saadam accountable for non-compliance? Why were you unable to convince your nation of this alternative? Do you feel responsible for your nations actions?

Rubbish.  If I don't want war and my country goes to war I am not responsible.

Quote:
We don't hate Americans just American foreighn policy. THEY ARE THE SAME. GET IT.

This is crap.  I hate American goreign policy but I don't hate Americans.  How can someone who opposed the war in Iraq be held responsible for it?  You are not equivalent to your country.

Quote:
I blame for IRAQIS FOr IRAQS policy.

If you really do you're seriously deranged.  Do you really think that Iraqis approved of everything Saddam was doing?

Quote:
I blame Muslims for Muslim policy

 you blame all muslims for any muslim policy?  Do you blame all Christians for any Christian policy?  This is an overwhelmingly simple worldview, and it doesn't make sense.

Quote:
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOr THE NATIONS YOU CHOOSE TO LIVE IN. GET IT. Iraqis choose to live in IRAQ, they are responsible for their governmnets actions.

Rubbish.  Lots of them would leave the country if there was any way for them to do it.

Quote:
The UN is blaming the USA like you are, ILLEGAL wars. If you agree Iraq failed to comply, HOW in the world can you not be for the WAR. WMD, non compliance, agressive behavior. WE only knew for sure after the war.

In this world you are innocent until proved guilty.  There was little evidence of WMD and the intelligence services (of the USA too) knew this.

Quote:

It wouldn't be too hard to force Saddam to let inspectors in.  The US was far too hasty in going to war.  It could probably have been resolved without military action.

Quote:
Since you choose to bring up UK intelligence. WHY DID YOU GUYS GET INVOLVED THEN? If your intelligence was so dead right, how come they failed to convince your LEADER to not get involved?

How do I know?  Ulterior motives?  Wanting to suck up to America?  I don't trust my leaders one bit and I know they'd go to war for political gain.

Quote:
Africans are starving and dying every day. Who is to blame? Was just a question, nothing to get worked up about.

If you say "Africans" you're an idiot.  The answer is climate, history, geography and pages of other factors.

Quote:
What would you think the best course of action would have been to hold Saadam accountable for non-compliance? Why were you unable to convince your nation of this alternative? Do you feel responsible for your nations actions?

I think they should have forced him to allow inspectors in, even seiged some weapons facilities and search them if necessary.  There was no need for all-out war.  Blair seems to do what the fuck he wants.  I was one of the 4 million brits that marched against the war, so no I don't feel responsible for my nations actions.

Re: Thanks Bush voters [Re: deafpanda]

You are responsible for your countries actions, you are just transferring responsibility to others.

You are responsible for all actions your governmnet takes, when you agree and disagree. Otherwise you are not entightled to live in the country.

You definetly were born in your country. If you imigrated there you would feel quite different. If you immigrated to the USA, you would have flunked the citizenship test.

We are responsible for ALL ACTIONS OUR GOVERNMNET TAKES. We are our government. You are trying to treat governmnet actions like they are individual actions they are not. We agree to live in our Nations, we are not forced to. WE agree to elect OUR CANIDATES so that OUR desires are respected. You views are just minority views. Sometimes your views are followed by your governmnet sometimes they are not. It is your duty to vote your conscience, but you must take responsibility for ALL actions of your governmnet, or you get out of the nation.

Disagreeing with the policy of your governmnet is not the same thing as not being responsible for your governmnets actions. You can't have it both ways. You can't only be responsible for the INDIVIDUAL ACTIONS OF YOUR GOVERTNMENT THAT YOU AGREE WITH. Picking and choosing. YOU deserve the freedom you have, you definetly don't understand it. You are responsible for your actions in the UK court. You are responsible for your nations actions in the International court. GET IT.

If your nation goes on a rampage through Europe, YOu as a citizen of your nation, are responsible for it's actions. If you go on a rampage in the UK and kill others, you are responsible for it. If I go on a rampage in your country, I am responsible. If my Nations army goes on a rampage in your country I and every other American is responsible for it.

You are typical of modern thought. Avoid responsibility if possible. Blame others if possible. Reap the benefits of your governmnet, but never take responsibility for ALL of its actions. Pick and choose.

Saadam is responsible for bringing us to war. His nation is responsible for allowing him to do so. The USA and the UK and their coalition are responsible for going to war. The Insurgents are responsible for their actions, and so on and so forth.

Typical to only want to take responsiblity for your own actions, and not the actions of the system you are protected by(Nation).

It must be nice living in WONDERLAND.

Why am I deranged for holding Iraqis responsible for their nations actions. They do have the freedom to fight their government, at least die trying. Why have children in a system that you have no say in? Are you going to say they were forced to do so? Are they at least responsible for that? If so, then they have AGREED to the policies of there nation ENOUGH that they felt it safe enough to raise kids in it.
At some point you have to realise they are ultimately responsible for THEIR actions and the actions of THEIR NATION. Are they not IRAQIS?

Oh yah 13 years of failed inspections, we really rushed right in!!!

In this world you are not innocent until proven guilty. In some nations in the world you are. Iraq was guilty of non cooperation with inspectors, consult the guy who was in charge of UNSCOM, or consult anything he ever wrote up about the whole affair. The burden of proof was Saadams. Don't you remember that? He failed.

People who were born in Africa, and continue to live there are Africans. Who is the idiot on this one?

Blair seems to do what he wants? So you admit your system of Governmnet is FLAWED, and you don't support it!!!!

How do you force inspections without WAR, the threat of War wasn't working. You want to fly in and secure single locations, search, and fly out. Then repeat with the next location. So it isn't war you are opposed to it was the scale of the war.

Your notion of GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY and citizenship is very .........YOU. To bad you can't see that You are a piece of a PIE, and that Pie you are equally responsible for as every other piece. It is the LAW. Equality and all. Or do you feel that minorities have no responsibility in the actions of there representative governmnet. We already got your answer.
