I posted this in OTD, but I think it's very applicable here as well:
I think it's time to rant a bit.
For all of you who are saying "We're doomed! We're doomed!" do you ever stop for five minutes and think?
It's people like you who disgruntle and dishearten the masses into thinking there is nothing that can be done. It's you and your apathetic, lazy, "I don't care" attitudes that are damning this country into nothingness.
Did you really think it would be easy as pie to stop a machine like Dubya? Did you really think you could just drive a few minutes form home, put a name on a ballot and everything would correct itself in the morning? Do you honestly believe that?
Fast forward: Now the election is over and what do you do? You give up. You get pissy and bitch and moan and cry because you're still on the losing side of this regime and thier tyranny. Open you're eyes idiot. How many of you really thought it would be that easy? Change is NEVER easy. There will ALWAYS be roadbumps and obstacles in your way if you're fighting for justice and equality.
Don't give up. Don't give in to apathy. Don't become lazy. Don't lay down. If you do that then you're a piece of cattle. You're a sheep. You're doing exactly what they want you to do. Congratulations, you played into their hands like a puppet.
Naysayers are the enemy just as much as "you know who". Naysayers do just as much damage as a carbomb in a crowded street if not more.
Apathetic lazy people make me sick.

uh... what else am i going to do abuot a country full of hicks voting for a baffoon of a man for president? Try and reason with them? No, that won't work, becuase reason itself hasn't worked. Just look at all the SHIT bush has caused, and does this click with people about being unreasonable behavoir? Should i protest? Should i spend this money that i'm trying to save up because i won't have social security to go to the White House lawn and proclaim that he's an moron of a man? No, television does that enough as it is. For the majority of people, all they have is voting. It's just too bad this country is filled with so many narrow minded fools that they'll vote for someone like him AGAIN. Fucking shit this is depressing.
What would you have us do? The problem with people is that they will only listen to someone whom they should listen to, not the person who's saying the right thing. Not that i'm saying i am, or that Kerry was... but for gods fucking sake, Bush was CERTAINLY NOT saying the right thing.

definatley not fair, u cant just assume we all quit. There are plenty of people who are still fighting. YOU need to open your eyes and see that u might think your workin hard but there are THOUSANDS of people out there devoting themselves to this cause so u need to keep quite and think before u speak

You certainly are judging people you don't know, a lot of people are angry, furious, shocked, etc.. They need to express themselves. You stepping in here and calling them lazy, apathetic is just out of line.

Actually a lot of people thought voting could get them the result they hoped for, you suggest then they were delusional that the Democrats could have won considering the last election where they actually did but justices stopped the recount?

I think the people who are lashing out are making a strong point that this country is divided, them being quiet about their feelings only helps keep the country divided. You can't ask for change if nobody says how they feel.

What doesn't the Republican Party own? It doesn't own me. I am of free spirit and of free mind. I cannot be controlled by the corporate world. I have the right to speak freely against Bush and his minions whether or not my oppinion is shared by the oppressed. Unfortunately, my oppinion will change nothing and only has meaning to myself. If we speak out in numbers our voice will only be silenced by those who have power and wish not to hear it. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.
