Growing Salvia indoors

I'm thinking about purchasing a Salvia cutting and growing it indoors but was wondering would just a single small fluorescent light will be sufficient? I was planning on having it sit on the corner of my computer desk with the light right above it. Would that provide enough light for the Salvia to grow until I can move it outside next spring?

id think so. ive also heard people just put them in the window facing the sun. and that works fine too.

One light is fine while its under the 1.5'-2' height.

Currently, I have the plant in an east-facing window. It's just on a desk with the blinds parrelel (sp?) to the grown.

yeah salvia dont require much light but make no mistake they do require it.
