Salvia indoors
    #1320893 - 02/20/03 02:02 AM (21 years, 1 month ago)

I just won a live rooted salvia plant!

So now I need to know how to keep it alive and well!  I've done a bit of research already, and from what I've read, basically, you need the following:

- they should not be given too much light, they like partial shade
- they shoudl be kept well watered, but be in soil that is well drained
- the bigger the pot the better (must have drainage holes)
- most potting soil works well, vermiculite mixed in could be helpful
- the plant can be grown indoors, but if it's not too cold out, it can be brought outdoors.
- needs fertilizer!

Ok, so most of this came from one website, so if there's anything that's incorrect, or anything else I should know, maybe you guys could help me out

Congratulations! Everything sounds good. Just don't over-fertilize it, and make sure it gets enough humidity to prevent the leaves from drying out. If indoors use fluorescent lighting and they'll do great, just watch for bugs!
