Is that why science says, once we start observing something, we change it and can't actually see something as it is? LOL

Exactly. You can't observe something objectively. The objective reality is one that exists without consciousness or awareness, because consciousness and awareness cannot know objectively (only subjectively, of course, as it is a distinct, aware perspective). We can know of an objective reality, but a pure, objective perspective is impossible to obtain by the simple fact that an objective perspective exists seperately and independantly from all other perspectives. :smirk:

Objective is a subjective concept

It was created as a symbol whose true meaning is unreachable, but often guessed at

And so, limiting ourselves to the inaccessability of our own created concepts seems odd. Funny, but odd.

My views on the matter have been shifting as of recently. I've always thought that an objective reality does not exist, and that there are only subjective realities based around interpretting the void of existence, that this is all one internally manifested illusion away from the non-existance that actually 'exists'. But I also thought that some form of all encompassing objectiveness must be present, some sort of channel of 'truth' fropm which our perceptions are drawn.

But now, I'm starting to think the underlying concept of objectiveness is flawed, and that yearning to understand it is in vain as there never was an objective state, only subjective ones. This sort of eliminates the need to even label experiences as subjective, as everything is.

Our perception gives rise to the illusion of existance. If this is subjective, then so too are the seemingly consensual aspects of these illusions.

Nothing is objective, which means that nothing itself is the only value worthy of 'objective'. No perception of the nothing, just void. Unadultered void. Pure void

If one makes the assertion "There is no objective reality, and therefore there are no facts which adhere in objective reality", then this statement itself could not be considered true, for there are no objective truths; it is merely an opinion. At the same time, if one were to truthfully say that I am wrong when I assert that there is objective reality, this is infact asserting an objective reality, namely that I am wrong. Me being wrong would be the objective truth.

Radical subjectiveism always leads to this logical inconsistency which was first encountered with the ancient Greek skeptics when they asserted that it is impossible to know anything with certainty.

If it is impossible to know anything with certainty, then it is impossible to know for certain that you can't know anything with certainty.

Skepticism and and radical subjectiveism are really the same thing.

So we end up with two opinions.

The first opinion says that there are objective facts, and that we can know some things with certainty.
The second opinion says that we cannot know anything with certainty.

The second opinion is self-contradictory, and is therefore meaningless.

Now, the only way out of this conundrum, while still denying objective truth, would be to deny the validity of the logic. However, if one denies the validity of logic then one is left with no means to argue his position.

Logic is valid relative to the one who holds it.

I don't think it is necessarily objectively valid

There are objective facts, and they are impossible to know. Nothing can be known with certainty.

Of course it is self-contradictory, there is a reason for this. It is also important to note that all things are meaningless.

To ever be able to communicate with someone, or to have an idea or a thought, it requires an assumption to be made. Although the very nature of our perspective implies that we cannot know anything with certainty, or that we cannot experience an objective reality, this does not mean that we make the assumption that we can anyways, to allow for communication, to allow for logic.

This is why it is "self-contradictory", because it contradicts the idea of a self, which is just an illusion. This is about opening up an illusory space so that we can be able to try to know things. This requires assuming different things are true. Do you not see how this creates a (necessary) duality in order to allow for a function?

It is obvious that a subjective experience can never know an objective fact or experience an objective reality, and it is obvious because of the logic and reason that has come about by making the false (but necessary) assumption that one can.

An illusion of self said it, of course.

It is interesting to note that it is impossible to find a true self. See, the self always splits, into infinity. Plenty of psychonauts have tried to find a true self in their mind, and it continues to split by the very fact that if you identify a "self", you have to ask who it was that identified that self. Very confusing stuff, but I ask you, who are you? Who isn't you?

A sense of self will forever continue to fragment and fragment further. There are no real barriers seperating anything from anything else, as well. For logic and knowing purposes, we assume there is so that we can have something to say, but what seperates these molecules from these molecules over here? This water from that water? This person from the environment that produced him, made him everything that he is, and takes him away? Everything is impermanent illusions of form and distinction. This is obvious if one thinks about it...

thats because my mother was a fractel...

so now im half fractel and i just keep splitting into infinity!

seriously (sic)

teh dna strand is fractel in nature, and the dna has all the code to build us into us... so it is only natural that our personalities, and even our sense of self, be fractel in nature.

but im using logic, and logic is all based on assumptions !

it was once a 'fact' that human beings were incapable of flying...

it still is a fact that at the time, they were incapable of flying. how does being able to fly now negate the fact that they could not fly then? there has been no contradiction.
