The nature of Opinions

Once again, anything I say is simply opinion and not necessarily fact at all.

Opinions are different peoples interpretations of what they see. Your opinions are not you; I don't think it is good to make them you. You can have any kind of opinion you want but please don't EVER assume it is "correct" or "better" than anyone elses. Your opinion will only ever be just that, and it will never be universal fact and attempting to make it that will only breed more bad blood. You can try to explain it so people can see what you mean, but if they don't agree than anger and force won't help a thing. That would only increase the visibility of the lines drawn between two people. A favorite quote of mine is "A man who believes he knows his truth is a wise man. A man who believes he knows other people's truths is a dangerous fool."

What I really wanted to say in this post was, at times it seems that people's opinions have no bearing on their actual beliefs; they just make their opinions an extension of their Ego. In this case it is not about your actual belief so much as it is about you being right and "they" being wrong. I think the best case of this is when "Pro-Lifers" kill doctors. To me it is clear these people don't really believe in the sanctity of all life otherwise they would not murder, this is one of those cases where it is about I am right and you are wrong and the actual issue is only a trivial matter. I believe this attitude to be bad.

Opinions are a microcosm of life, they are what bring us together and they are what rip us apart. In them we have the ability to unite and the ability to destroy.

An opinion is like an asshole, everybody has one. Opinions are beliefs, nothing more than that, and beliefs are odd. Do we know for a fact that anything we as a whole, the human race, think of as a fact, really is? Not really. Like water being H20, most will agree as that being a solid fact. But it just just an opinion of humankind. Water could be much more or much less than the way we see it.....just an example.
