Perlite+vermiculite casing * 1

Has anyone ever tried just using perlite/bottom layer
and verm/top layer as a casing method? How did they turn out? Would you recommend using Jiffy mix?
help appreciated!

Yes, and it works very well, the perlite bottom layer, and it makes an excellent water resivoir. Don't know about jiffy mix though, i've 'heard' that it works, but so does vermiculite... I prefer straight peat moss (sphagnum) with lime, or 50/50+ is good too
