Microwave ok to sterilize casing soil?

I`m a newbie and was wonderin if i can sterilize my verm and casing soil in a microwave...... and how long should i neuc it?

Newbie cultivator.....experienced tripper from the sixties era :o).. If you can remember the 60`s you were`nt there :o)

what a friend does is mix up his 50/50 (verm/peat), and adds some water. Nukes this for 5 mins, mixes it all up and nukes for another 5 mins. Wait for it to cool and squeeze it no water should come out. Spray and mix, spray and mix, spray and mix until just a very little water comes out when you squeeze it.
