Sterilize casing or not?...Expert advice needed!

Will someone please tell me if I really need to sterilize my casing mix before I use it or will it be ok without cooking it first? I dont want to make any mistakes but I want to do this the easiest way possible too.
Thanks

I was planning on using 50/50 with hydrated lime and crushed oyster shell unless someone has a better casing mixture....

i ve treid it both ways and found that sterilizing was better than pasterizing
but it sure seems debatable
to sterilize, pressure cook some pre-moistened jarfulls
to pasterize, bring some pre-moisened jarfulls up to 160-180 for 1-1.5 hours

I'm torn on this subject. I did a test with 4 casings, sterilized the soil on 2 and left plain on the other 2.
Mycelium seemed to colonize faster on the 2 unsterilized casings, but one got contaminated a week into its life. The other was the first to fruit, and had a very nice first flush, a decent second, and a skimpy third before I executed it to the garden.
The sterilized casings were about two days behind the other two, they both fruited at about the same time, and got three flushes each out of them before they contaminated.
The yield was less on the sterilized casings.
The unsterilized one got contaminated, but the other had a very nice first and second flush.
