Microwave Sterilization?

I found this the other day and wonderd if anyone had used it with success? _________ Microwave Sterilization Technique Huge thanks to Cranny! Thanks to this innovative technique, pressure-cooker sterilization may be a thing of the past. Why didn't someone think of this before? Well, here it is: You will need to use PLASTIC containers (i.e Tupperware). Punch holes on the lids as per PF's method. Pre-sterilize the containers by placing them in a tray of water a few millimeters deep. Set the microwave for 8 minutes and verify that the power is on "high". Carefully remove the containers and add the substrate. Once again, place the containers back on the trays. Make sure that you have some water in the tray (just a few millimeters deep is enough). Don't forget that you need to have the innoculation holes punched even before pre-sterilization (otherwise you'll have a messy microwave to clean up when the substrate heats up). Thats it! Let cool (for a few hours at least). Innoculate in the usual manner. The individual who brought this technique to life claims to have employed it succesfully....and I have no reason to doubt. ___________ What do you guys think? I think I may give it a shot with an extra B+ syringe I have.. I think I'll follow the guide lines, then when the substrate is colonized I'll throw a casing layer over it and see what happens.. any suggestions?

Suggestion: tell me how it works out.

What subrates does the author claim to have success with? And how long is the substrate put in the microwave for? Maybe you could post a link to the original text. Cheers

The substrate seems to be the PF substrate. The method can be found in the Grow/Find section of the Shroomery.

"What subrates does the author claim to have success with? And how long is the substrate put in the microwave for? Maybe you could post a link to the original text. " Well since it says that pressure cooker sterilization is a thing of the past I'm guessing all substrates.. And also since it says put the container in the microwave for 8 minutes it applies for both container and substrate. PS. That is the original text, copied and pasted.
