Hey Alien, we started growing for the first time about a month ago. Looked everywhere for the supposed best instructions for newbies. We liked yours the best and followed the tek to the T. Happy to say we have cased two jars out of 5. 2 have been slow (only two holes worked). And the first jar nothing worked, we assume no spores were actually injected - 1/2 cc per hole, or we killed the spores with heating the needle.
We are now patiently awaiting the casing colonization and pinning soon thereafter. For us your tek has worked fine. Thanks for the update.
And to everyone else, all of your help and insight is a boon to this hobby.

Awesome, I'll have to try that updated substrate... sounds like it would work good. Also, you're the only moderator I've seen thats a "newbie" heh, not teasing just found that kinda ironic ; )

Wow, that's a pretty big coincidence! I went to the health food store yesterday and bought everything needed for your substrate except Finch Seed....but I bought some rye too. Now I can try it out right away.
