casing problems

My Koh Samui colonized rye grain in about 7 days. I moved to case them, and its been 2 weeks and it hasn't grown through the casing layer?! I thought it only took a couple days.? I grew out some non-rhizomorphic, quite cottony stuff on agar, then made mycelium syringes. Does cottony mycelium tend to grow through casing slowly? I am thinking about trying to isolate more rhizomorphic strain. Does over humidity cause inhibition of growth? They are being fruited in a tank with a cover, the tank is filled 2-3" with water, and a heater to keep around 84 degrees. There is little actual dripping on the top of the tank, although big drops are on the top of the glass lid. There is little or no great accumulation of water at the bottom of the jars in the humidity tank. Would it be better to use perlite? Would it be better to use trays?

Pretty funny joke huh? The truth is, the above is just a great big lie!

If you used the cottony mycelium, then your going to have problems fruiting. The cottony mycelium often refuses to pin. If your using agar you should be able to isolate the rhizomorphic growth.
