Important Mold/Vendor Question
    #3200194 -

Ok, well I recently received two spore syringes from a nameless (at this point) vendor. I inoculated four jars of one strain and five jars of another strain under the exact same conditions (quart jars of popcorn, all pressure cooked together, sterile conditions, etc.).

A couple days later the five jars are showing healthy growth of mycelium, while the other four all have green mold. So I would say that the issue was the syringe, not the conditions in which they were placed. Is there any way to broach this with a vendor?

Did you contact the vendor about the problem?  Usually if they are associated with the shroomery they will do everything in their power to make it right, including giving you a replacement syringe.

The vendors here are extremely ethical about their businesses.

Yes, but vendors sell their syringes for microscopy research and telling them how I know the syringe was contaminated would cause problems, wouldn't you say?

yes... the vendors do back their products... if there is a lot # on the syringe
you may want to provide them with it so they can test the entire lot

Dont forget about sterilation of needles. If you didnt do that well you might have gotten lucky with one needle but not the other. Or if you didnt do one as well as the other.

But contamed syringes do happen and sponsers will replace them. You can't very well use it for microscopy and properly identify cubensis spores with all them green spores floating around right?
