Hey shroomers, Well actually I was out searching the river banks for caerulescens (and basically any mushrooms). And there were a few haystack bricks (straw) that were (for some reason i have no idea why) but they were put into the stream a few months ago. I came across a stray clump of hay along the water and found this mushroom on it. I thought it could maybe be a Panaeolus subbalteatus. So I took a few pics.. put that thing in my new backpack to take back later and take a print and by the time I got back the shroom went to mush. So no print. It does however have reminants of a black veil around the stem...and also whitish fibrils.

Thanks 3D, I am not very please with the picture i took of the gills on this one.. and really have no idea if it is a subb or what, probably not. Theres my new backpack though :) oh and i did find one other mushroom i wasnt sure about.. im printing that one right now hoping it ends up with dark purple spores, because it sure did look like the stem was bluing.

i would go so far as to exclude it from being a panaeolus mushroom. thise gills are a little too purple and spaced for such a mature mushroom.

Its perfect right now for walking. Truly adventurous! Like-a river rat, all you mushroom hunters would just love walking this one. :) Southwest florida, over and out, Take care, GG
