need some help ID'ing these badboys...
    #361192 - 07/26/01 06:01 AM (22 years, 8 months ago)

hey. what's up, folkz? need just a couple of seconds of ya' time...
ok. so here's the scoop. i'm not any kind of expert mycologist...but i can spot a cube or cope with the best of 'em. anyways. i live in northwest florida...and decided to go shroomin' last night. it's been rainin' off and on for like 2 days. i decided to check out a new field...that i had heard about from some folks. why there where no shrooms, i have no clue. the conditions seemed prime...i had a good hunch...blah...blah...blah...anyways. as i was walkin' home i noticed some haybells on a construction site next to the road. i was like shit! shrooms grow on hay/compost stuff...lookin' closer...i was like awwwwwww yeah! there were these little shrooms poppin out of the sides and tops of the haybells. i've seen these (or a VERY similar species) before in cow pastures on cow sh*t but passed em up because of the uncertainty. so my ghetto ass hops the fence, and put 'em in my backpack. i have no scanner, so of course i have no pic. but they're quite distinct. i'll try my best to explain how they look:

very fragile.
dark purplish blue-ish cone-shaped caps (possibly a nipple).
black (may be a very dark purple) spore print. stained my fingers all black N sh*t.
long white stem.
growing from straw/hay bell thingies...

i'm thinkin' maybe they're a variety of pannaeolous or corprinus...not sure, tho.
any help would be very appreciated!! :)

take it easy.

Coprinius. definately. i see them all the time. especially on haystacks. aka the inky cap.
do not eat especially if you drank alcohol or will in the near future. it reacts badly all up in your ghetto booty yo.
