DB kit too moist?
    #317263 - 05/14/01 08:10 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

Has anyone observed that the DB kit gets very wet after colonization. I have dew all over the top layer, (I'm sure I heard somewhere that this is undesirable). There are some small yellowish "puddles" as well. Im try not too saweat the small stuff but It would be a shame to lose this baby.
Im considering fanning it out some, but supposedly it's thats the way it ought to be.

Any comments from somone with experience on the matter and the DB kit?

Yes my FOAF's DB kit also has lots of water on the surface and on the sides. It has that yellowish liquid which is metabolic waste from the mycelium. According to Ryche this is normal for the kit and that water will be absorbed by the first flush. I say don't fan it. Let it go. HolyDiver fanned his and he didn't get much pinning on the surface(mostly pinning on the side) and then Ryche told him that fanning dried out that important surface water.
