DB Kit Finals (READ THIS)

Well, the totals are in. After waiting a total of 7 weeks with dreams of a super crop i just finished the first harvest from the 15LB. kit
I followed the directions to the letter. The time line wasnt even close. It took almost 3 weeks for the rye berries to colonize( one bag was lost ). I used the remaing two bags and 4 1/2 pints of Thai Kai Samui. It took another 2.5 weeks for the substrate to colonize.About 1.5 weeks for the fruiting to finish(i allow the caps to go quite a bit before i pick-em).I was not happy about the time thing.Ikept thinking something was wrong( I didnt change anything). The grand total was 3.5 ounces. I was shocked!!!! Even looking at them before the harvest i was hoping maybe 1.5 but 3.5??? OH YEA! I am thrilled. The Heaviest one was 7.2 g the tallest 11 inches. There may be wonderfull ways to mix your own substrate. Some of you may live by a farm with a cow. Im quite happy with my investment and when i EVENTUALLY eat all 3.5z's i'll be ordering the 50lbs of Dung Brothers using my $25.00 off coupon. WOO HOO! MOO MOO! This stuff really works. Yeah the rye dosen't work all that well and it takes longer than ryche says. A fiend yielded about 1.5 ounces of koh samui fron the 10 lb kit. But I highly suggest that you tape the sides so that pins don't form on hte sides.

HI, I only had 1shroom come up the side on the first flush. It was close enough to the top that i didnt have to dig.Ive read almost all the reports on this kit and think i just had everything go well by comparison.

seems rather expensive!! i bet it isnt that hard to make something similiar to that. is it just rye berries that you spawn with with dung (with some minor additions like everything is sterilized and you get some better equipment)? i dont think its cool when someone who has lots of experience (ryche hawk) sells this super good kit to some newbies and they get a shitload of shrooms. that person will have to keep spending his or her money to get some shrooms that he doesnt even know how they got there. people should just learn from the pf tek and build there way up, instead of spending money. they find a way top put a price on everything!! at least it works (unlike most kits out there)

My kit has puddles of water on the top and stuck in the sides.
Some of them are starting to get a yellow color to them.
Did that happen to yours?? This is only the second day since I started the fruiting cycle and I'm starting to worry.

I thought the colonization time was off too, but my current batch of rye berries is fully colonized in all three bags and it's today is day 7. I think I'm going to give it an extra day before I use it to innoculate the compost, but they are ready. I'll let you know how colonization of the compost goes.

I think it is a good thing to learn the PF tek as well.Its all the trouble i went through learning how to do the cakes and the casings that gives me so much appreciation for how simple the DB kit was.I put together this elaborate set-up using a cool mist humidifier coupled together with three seperate containers etc etc.Two seperate rooms for different ambient temps.All different little tools for this and that. I havent purchased shrooms since i started learning to cultivate but when i was, $30.00 an eighth was the going rate. I figure the DB kit is $150.00 (first time) 3.5 ounces comes out to$740.00
not to mention a 2nd and 3rd flush.By no means am i selling but i am enjoying.If you can come up with a casing that doesnt require alot of time to prepare or require alot of space to obtain the same yield thats cool. For me i'll spend the $150.00 and freak out over the  size of these babies.

for my first time i just read everything like 5 times and just did it how i thought would work i wish i would (could)just follow their directions but by doing that i feel i have learned alot my yields werent great but i tripped

i can believe its butter but why would you do that
