Psilocybe cyanescens in San Francisco?

I was wondering if Psilocybe cyanescens grows grows in the bay area? Im sure temps drop below 50F at in the winter and we do get a rainy season. Is this area suited for their growth? Any ideas, comments?

Very Late november or Mid December to january in San fancisco and north of the city Across the bay and mount Tamilpai (sp.?)

very uncommon, but they are around. I lived in SF for most of my life and never saw one, though I never hunted particularly hard for them, I was mostly after the choice edibles around the area.

A friend of mine down there says he's looked for them pretty hard before for several seasons and not been able to find any.  Although, the reason he did that is because someone told him they had found some there.  It's all just heresay.  Lets see a picture of someone holding a handful of fresh Cyan's in front of the Golden Gate.  :smile:

There were a few finds last season in SF. Use the search function to look them up.

They grow everywhere in sf. Check flower beds, and check out golden gate park. They are abundant, but they havent popped up yet. Give it at least a month. You will find some. Check out the www.mssf.org. THey will have a fungus fair in 2 months. You will be able to find them well into janurary. Good Luck

Never found any in SF but did not look. Travel north on 101 for a few hours and you will end up in prime cyan real estate. Homboldt county has great picking in December. Look at the college of the redwoods, a few spots there or evan go across the bay from eureka. Anyways never found any in SF but possible evan though eating mushrooms on your way to SF is all good.
