San Francisco Cyanescens!! Id Needed, Sort of.
    #2141039 - 11/27/03 10:36 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

My buddy and i went hunting last weekend and found a load of shrooms! It was my first time ever hunting so we were only keeping the ones that we thought were surely cyans. After returning home we realized that we had left the majority of shrooms there becasue they were old and were not bruising but they did show the rest of the signs. We are going back this weekend to finish up. I am 99% sure they are cyans but just want someone else to tell me so. I emailed my pics to sporeworks and workman said they were the real deal. What do you think?

These are the ones I left there. I know Stupid me!!!

Here is the same group before picking.

Here is what we brought home.

Here is an older specimen with bluing on the cap. This is the reason why we didnt take the majority of them. They were old and resisted bruising and had rotting centers.

good finds, they are indeed cyans.

next time use scissors so you protect the mycelium and you can keep returning back the the patch!!

nice work.

scissors, good tip. I used to be shroom savy but i have been away from it for awhile. I only had experience with cubes and azures until now. How good are the old compared to the young?

Very nice score. It's pretty rare to see Cyans from California posted around here. I'm sure your post has inspired legions of hunters to get out this weekend.

Hi, I responded to your email at my old addy. As for scissors, they are only necessary whent he shrooms are growing in mulch. You do not need to use scissors on lawn shrooms such as blue ringers, Baeocystis and/or P. cyanecens if they come out of a lawn. However, if you are getting them form mulch then it is good to use scissors.

Mj

And form your images they appear theat they f were in the lawn. When picking them be sure to look in the immediate surrounding area as they could be in the bare to the left and right of you and in front and in back, in gardens sometimes next to each oher with the same mulch.

BTW, my shroom "dealer" who is also located in the Bay Area has been picking up ounces of cyanescens ever since september and I want to know how/where the fuck he is getting all of these seeing as I don't want to be paying money for something that I can pick for free! BAWAAAH!

Doop?

P. cyans usually do not appear in San Francisco until late October through early January.

In fact they do not appear in The PNW until October.

Your friend must be grow ing them indoors to have them tha early inthe year because it is never cold enough for them to fruit at that time of the year in SAn Fran.

Nope I am actually pretty sure he has a outdoor source because he never had any until it started raining. Once it started raining he was picking up QP's every week.. I could be wrong though.
