*PICS* of something that angers me
    #316265 - 05/13/01 12:50 PM (23 years, 6 months ago)

Well this is just getting better and better. My friend's Thai Lipia Yai casing is doing so wonderfully. *smashes head through large glass window*

Check out this wak shit. The humidity is 98-99 and the temp is 79/80. The casing seemed to be pinning for a while, and then growth slowed, I posted a message for my friend (problems poblems and more problems) and someone told him to raise the temp. This sped up the growth for about a day, and now everything is at a standstill. There are like four good looking fruits, and the rest are mutants, fatasses and pins that have stopped growing. Chek the pics... please help if you can

Well that pic didn't work I think it was too big, but here is a smaller one. You can't see it in the pic, but the majority of the casing is tiny pins that stopped growing. (by the way it will have been three weeks on tuesday.)

Looks like you went a little crazy with the hydrogen peroxide.

Try lowering the humidity---take the lid off the container for 12-24hrs. Then put it back on and begin misting as normal. They are in the staging process. This is the stage just before they "Bloom", they can stay in this stage for as long as need be until conditions are right. Drying them out a little then re-hydrating them seems to envoke them. They will do just like they do outside--- nothing, then all of a sudden over an 8-12 hour period they will "Bloom".
Don't get antsy and mess with them too much and as soon as They are ready--BOOM. Patience is the key.
Hope this helps!

Yeah, drop the humidity a bit.

NO DOUBT, egghead, those things look like they are drunk with peroxide, and 99% is TOO much humidity, what its doing is drowning the surface mycelium so they cant really grow, I think the trick is to get as much humidity as possible without condensating. Fan more often.

Thnaks guys. He will try the tips. Also, he thinks he may be on to an alternate solution. This was the first time he tried slicing the cakes, instead of crumbling them. He thinks the mycelium was too dense and hard, so he took out the mycelium and recased it, crumbled. He has had sucess like this before, he just hopes to the gods that he will have success again. It seems the hard mycelium wasn't able to fruit right, when he crumbled the substrate back up, he could see the circular slices. Will post results...

If you notice in the pic there is 1 mushroom that has a dark stem at the top and it gets lighter twords the base....this is caused by a higher casing to humidity level, the csing needs more water and the container needs fanning more often.........

Going crazy will drive you mad, but once you get there the rest is easy.....

Going crazy will drive you mad, but once you get there the rest is easy....All spores are not created equal!!!!!!!!!!! Sporeworks, Hawkseye, PF, they are completely viable with very strong genetics.
