That is the first real interpetation I have heard that makes me think out side the box of "Jesus said it is ok to party". Even the most experienced Ministers I have talked to, havn't told me that.

I do not believe jesus ever got drunk, nor do I believe alcohol and drugs have any significance in the life of a spiritual devotee.

The bible could very well be fabricated, but I do not believe Jesus's life is a lie.

No, I do not believe jesus partied at all, to even think that of him is to completely misunderstand his teachings, and his way of life.

He did not believe in giving in to the tempation of this world, rather he showed how to fight off Satan (the forces of the physical world) and purify oneself as to attain a greater, more truthful version of reality.

Obviously Jesus wouldn't waste his skills and make shitty wine....

If I'm performing a miracle and turning water into wine, its going to be the best fucking wine you'll ever come across, that's for sure.

"all things in moderation."

Well Jesus was driving that evening so he didn't mind getting them wasted

What do any of us know about Jesus before he was 32 years of age???

Nothing

I will say I firmly believe with all my heart that Jesus was doing the things man has always done before he started his fathers work. SIN

God sent his son to earth to experience man experiences. To understand mans pain. To understand his sin.

That was the only way to make a new path to salvation.
God did not understand man's sinful ways

So god came to earth as man, live d as man.

Then God show man that it was Possiable to be more than Man to be more like God. To be like Jesus.

The ultimate sacrifice was his willingness to suffer the cross.

Showing man that Love is greater than Man

And that my friend is why the old teachings and history of Jesus's life are suppresed by the CHURCH.

Jesus did live a life of sin then he became Sin free showing man he can over come pain with trust in god. To Be like jesus.

He was and is the perfect example.

Fucknuckle, that makes sense....but its contrary to the story of Jesus...wether you accept it or not.

I'm not debating the truth on the life of Jesus, because it will always be opinion.

However, according to the story of jesus (which I dont think is accurate really), He was born without any karmic influences, any sin...and lived his life that way.

But then again, he did go into the wilderness and fast for 40 days, which further purified his body and mind (temple of spirit).

Then, he was baptised by john the baptist, which is when the holy spirit entered him I believe.

So you may be correct.

Either view is valid, to me it makes more sense that he never sinned, but I wont disagree with you

I have spent far to much time in closed minded chuches than I would like to say
And I have read every word in the bible more than once.

And I have come to this conclusion......

It is the story of man who has said " Jesus was born with out sin and lived a pure life"

It was convenient for control of people.

Yes Supermarket, God now knows the pain of Man and loves us enough to share in our suffering and allow us to then enjoy his Peace.

In the views of Jews in the Jesus' time, the whole of creation was a miracle. As such, a miracle created by prophets is a sign within the story to signify that God was at work with that person. That's why Moses is only second to Jesus as far as the amount of miracles worked are concerned. Turning water to wine should not be explained scientifically, because the Jews in his day knew he hadn't really done that. It just shows the significance of this character within the Jews' history.

Jesus was a prophet, not some type of transmuter mutant.

So you don't think that Jesus really did turn water to wine?

Because I wasn't really looking for a scietific explination.
More a response to the examination that Jesus did in fact turn water to wine. And what is the impact to you. What is the meaning of the historic event?  Is Jesus telling us, it is OK ,sometimes to enjoy the things of the world, in excess? Like drinking it up at a wedding, which by the way is a celebraton of love and union.

a traditional jewish observation (froma rabbi): to be drunk during joyous celebration is a mitzvah...

~

jesus wept (this is scripture, friends...)
but here i wish to assure you...
jesus laughed
jesus toiled
jesus sweated
jesus shouted
jesus celebrated
jesus feared
jesus loved
jesus lived
jesus died
jesus returned

oh, and as a parlor trick "water into wine" - any time-traveller can pull this one off, with a packet of fizzies (grape flavor) & a bottle of moonshine & a little razzle-dazzle & sleight-of-hand... poof...

This was Jesus's first public mirical! He's at this 3 day wedding party with his disciples and his mom. They run out of wine on like the second day. It was his mom, Mary Most Holy, who said to him "They are out of wine." He said "Woman, what concern of this is mine?" But mary insisted, and that is when he called for the stone jars of water which he changed into wine. Was Jesus a party animal? Yeah...
What else are you going to do at a three day party?

You honestly beleive that jesus and mary wern't partaking in the celebration of the holy salami?

I remember as a child the catholic church putting him holier then thou above all up so high on a pedastal nobody could reach him. Sort of went along with having to talk to God through a priest who had better connections then the "sinners" with the big guy in the sky.

I must speak up for my maim man here. Ever hear the story of the beggar?

Jesus wants everyone to know that he is in the unshaven dude on the harley breakin the law, and in the porn queen guys jack off to, which whom he is also a part of and in George Bush and Sadaam Hussein and in the guy selling hot dogs on the street corner.

It sometimes saddens the human aspect of him when people who claim to know him can't recognise him in the mother who drowned her children.

This dude is the King of compassion and can relate to everyone because he is a part of everyone and that includes the sinners.

Screw what the book says about him- find him in your heart and get to know him personally. You'd be suprised to find out how much he is just like all of us. Its because he walks in all of our shoes that he is the King of compassion, he knows our fears and struggles and suffering as his own. He would never put himself above anything or anyone nor would he fight against delusions of evil. He would come to understand and know it as himself and then accept it with unconditional love and compassion.
