Jesus turning water to wine???

I have had this talk with many people over the years so I would like to have it with all of you.

It seems jesus attented a wedding with his family. When they got there, the party was all out of wine. These people knew of Jesus's ability to perform wonders. So the host of the party asked him " WHY DON"T YOU TURN THIS WATER TO WINE?"

SO he did.

Now here is the funny part.

A guest said to the host "Most people serve the best wine first and the worst last because everybody will be to drunk to notice how bad it tastes"

So let us understand what happened

JESUS MADE VERY GOOD WINE AFTER EVERYBODY WAS ALL READY DRUNK!!!!!!

Now I have heard alot of double talk on what this story is suppose to really mean, like some sort of big secret. A meaning different than what the face value is. BULLSHIT

Jesus was there to party. Jesus also said more then once in good book " All things are good in moderation "

SO my take on this is.. Jesus is ok with a party ,just so long as you don't lose sight of the goal....Being closer to God and to be like Jesus.

What do you think??

Yeah your are right in one way but, the question still remains for those who belive in the good book.... WHY WOULD JESUS MAKE MORE WINE FOR A BUNCH OF DRUNK PEOPLE?

Good point. What is moderation?

Appernetly jesus thought giving drunk people more wine was ok.

I think when he talked about moderation he was speaking of long term, I.E. gettin drunk every day

That is the point I have made at many prayer meetings at several chuchs over the years. Why can't man pertake in the spoils of the BUZZ!! they can, and jesus promoted it.

Well, if it's not a story then I dont know what to call it. But it's definately is to be belived in order for it to be real. But I'm not going there because religion is a pretty strong subject and if you try to contradict anything that someone bases thier whole life on, then thats just going to hurt people, and hurting people is wrong.

But anyways...no, I found the the ad somewhere a long time ago. There were like 4-5 of these hilarious ad's, and I never found them again:) But thjis one survived, and its a jewel!

Yeah, and imagine all the exhaustive energy that goes into explaining everything in that story, and defending it. Its almost like it causes more greif for some people than it does make thier life better.

Humans are facinating for sure. Christians can give good reasons for all the killing in the bible but they can't begin to explain the water to wine thing.

Silly humans need a buzz! It is part of the big picture. Isn't the idea of heaven total Bliss??? So .....Lets get high.

it has been pointed out by some that the only reason that jesus son of mary (yeshai ibn yusef) was approached about the stores of wine running low at the wedding feast was because it was his wedding (to miryam of magdala), & he was responsible for the beverage supply...

The meaning of... is incomprehensible to a human mind. It says so in the Bible. Regardless, thinking the Bible has a meaning is Christianity. You don't have to understand it, you just have to believe. You're saved by faith alone.

Its a story, plain and simple. And its a great story because its full of morals. All the references to the book are basicly pointing out to certain morals that are connected to certain stories, and there are ALOT of them in there.

What makes the saying: "Dont belive everything you read" not apply to that book, its just like any other book! It just means alot to alot of people because in some cases it has even stopped wars, and that is a very powerful thing! Powerful book? yes. Story? Yes.

Dude I belive alot a what I have read in the bible and apply many lesson to my life. I guess the real question I am asking is this..... Do you think jesus was supporting the idea of being drunk and enjoing youself or does the story meaning something else???
Does anybody actually read the bible besides me??

I just read a book with the same theory.

The Catholic Church uses this story to show how Jesus listened to His mother.
