Judgement
    #3012827 - 08/17/04 10:24 AM (19 years, 7 months ago)

I'm finding that I make judgements on people to keep myself safe from my own insecurities. I often project what I fear others think of me, and then try to meet that expectation in my mind so I'm safe from it.

I need to overcome this. It's interesting because I'm the type of person who is least likely to think in this manner given my personal philsophy, but I end up acting on that fear. Usually once I get to know a person I stop making those snap judgements right away, but

So what's the pub's solution to this problem? A couple of grams of mushrooms? Just being self-confident and less self-conscouis? Not caring what people think? Or perhaps a combination of all of the above?

The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

For what it's worth: meditation, meditation, meditation.

And I just want to say that you are very aware of yourself and your surroundings....I really admire that in you.

Thanks Phishgrrl! I actually practice meditation a whole lot, and it's one of the most effective ways of grounding myself. What methods do you use when you meditate?
