They initially released some prisoners in exchange for a short ceasefire, but then they proposed what was called at the time the "all for all" exchange.  All hamas prisoners for all israeli prisoners.  It amounted to a thousand or two.  I don't remember because that went nowhere.

The IDF drops block-destroying bombs over residential areas. Their directives state that up to 500 innocent civilians dying for one Hamas operative taken out is acceptable.

Part of the problem is that Hamas often forces it's civilian population to stay put, and to not allow them to evacuate, for the purpose of having them get killed so they can use the whole shitshow as propaganda in order to get leftist idiots to support their cause, which has been tremendously effective.  The IDF does whatever it can to provide advanced warnings to the innocent civilians prior to bombing these strategic areas occupied by Hamas terrorists and their munitions, even going as far as to drop leaflets from the air with warnings and evacuation instructions written in Arabic.

Bruh, that was a from a quick search on the googler, 'do IDF directives state that up to 500 innocent civilians are allowed to die for one Hamas operative'


That number turns out to be from a highly controversial film called 'NAZA', in which 'anonymous sources' provide the information.  Why don't you go ahead and show some me some definitive proof to back up the 500 to 1 claim?  Keep in mind, 'anonymous sources' with an anti-Israeli agenda don't count :nono:

Motive might be important. I watched a documentary about ww1 in which a survivor tells of finding one of his fellow on the ground, still alive, but with guts hanging out. He said he shot him in the head to end his suffering. He started crying when he finished the story. His motive looked like compassion or something. I don't think I'd call it murder.
