Can't tell ya much about 'em, son. All I ever grew was them subtropicalis.

:superscience:

Edit: and btw my Xico are incredibly fucking slow, they better pack a really good trip. Or else I don't see the fun in them. Zaps spawned the same day are on flush two, sporulating.

Thanks man, even after two years doing this it ain't nothing in this hobby that beats that "first pins from a new species" feeling.

An older name can still be used legitimately in publication. P. semperviva Heim & Cailleux (1958) was an accepted name for a period of time.

Saying Psilocybe semperviva Heim & Cailleux (1958), is the same thing as saying Psilocybe subtropicalis Guzmán (1995) because they are the same thing and both names were accepted names. Without the name and date it is all wrong anyway. So if you are saying P. subtropicalis, but not including Guzmán (1995), you are doing it wrong anyway and speaking in laymen's or common name terms. So therefore Subtropicalis and Semperviva are just "common names" without the qualifiers. There is no team right or team wrong.

I prefer P. semperviva personally and go by that common name.

The important part is that we agree that the x axis is the input axis, and the y axis is the output axis. In this way we can communicate.

Growing Xico or Tre Soles sounds like watching paint dry, just saying.

I have zaps on grain now and can only do one super slow thing at a time.

It's taken months for my brain to ramp down from cyans to the point where var. HVC seems incredibly fast.

Also, this Guzmán guy really gets around, right?

You're the best man, and seriously thanks for the added information, I did not know this and truly it doesn't matter what we call it as long as we can communicate about it, like you said, point taken :hatsoff:

Did you see my timeline for the Tres Soles? It's not that bad, well coming from pans it might feel that way

Anyway I'll post it again.

Inoculated: 08.09.26.
Spawned to substrate: 29.09.26
Cased: 15.10.26.
First pins: 26.10.26.

That's not bad at all, really, for first pins.
Then the harvest is like 8 months later, right?

I'm hoping it's the same as HVC, so like 6-8 weeks, I'll be sure to update when, and if I get there

I know I'm over 500 pages late to the party, and I'm a total noob, and I don't really belong here to your cool group, but I just wanna chime in and say I'm loving this thread and the hilarious banter! I'm more of a lurker; I read but don't say much.

I'd personally vote for TEAM SEMPERVIVA, as a previous poster said something like "why give it such a cool name and then mess it up?" :noway2:

But I totally get that this is the result of several researchers classifying it differently over decades, so we're kinda stuck with the mess as I don't think there's a "God of Taxonomy" that will sort it out universally. (Or is there? M'HA HA HA!).

On a personal note, I've been so lucky to spend some quality time with the awesome skanskKorv, who's become a good buddy; he's really helped me a lot to screw up my grows.

JUST KIDDING!

I screw them up, and he tells me how to fix them! The guy's a friggin' genius and has at every step given me the truth:

"That jar is contam'ed bro. Toss it!."

"Clearly your SAB technique needs work!"

"Wisdom chases you, but you elude her!"

I think I've managed to screw up even the pf tek recently, which elicited groans from him. Hopefully he still talks to me after this post haha!

Most you guys don't know it but he's got this super deep commanding voice with a most excellent accent that only enhances how terrifying he sounds! I tell him he ought to do voice overs but he laughs.

I'll take the tough love; thanks skanskKorv!

Oh, I should mention, I've also got some sempers on agar, in a funny turn of events from two different memebers here, but the same strain from the same source!

So cheers to Imatryin and skanskKorv for their generousity. I look forward to getting these guys going!

skansKorv, I'm gonna do a transfer in the next coupla days, I swear it!

Sorry to interrupt the show.

Carry on.

I like semps myself. Simple, easy and my friends know what I mean by that. To change a label on these people would mess them up. It did when I tried calling natalensis by the corrected name, ochres. They just get confused and never grasp it, so to them ochres are nats now and forever.

I fucking love when this thread blows up like this :awesome:

@kloakk: haha man you're right this bud is op... It isn't a bud though it's static sift hash and I thought my 14 years old tolerance would handle this but here I am super hazy spewing bullshit when I say I wont:lol:

@asura/Kloakk:

Tres Soles takes longer than HVC and quite a lot longer for me around twice the amount of time but I still haven't grown them successfully so I can't say what timeline they're supposed to have but my first pins were harvested after 8 weeks and HVC takes 4-5 but I myself think Tres Soles are soooo worth the wait:naughty: I've never tried zaps so can't compare with those but Tres Soles feels like a more grown up and mystical HVC but still completely different.

@Mychol:

Eeeh dude you're finally here! Great to see you in here
:leocheers:

Also stfu you DO belong here and that's why I've been pestering you about jumping in here with all these nutjobs:naughty:

Man you're being too kind to me tbh but I ain't no genius...

Jokes aside I'm happy I've been able to help but you should definitely stick around here now when you've joined in on the fun:lol: there are people way beyond my experience who can assist you even more here:awethumb:

Haha man don't worry over the pf tek, I've seen the jars and you haven't screwed up at all, the x7x+ should be finished soon if it stays as sexy as it is now:rockon:

And actually you're the only one on shroomery who heard my voice which means I have to kill you now... Damn it dude I liked ya:mad2::lol: jokes aside though I think you shouldn't take me as "commanding" but when I think of it I might've come off as it so sorry for that:uhoh: I don't think I sound very terrifying I sound more like Leif GW persson

Anyways there is no need to thank me bro I'm always pleased to assist but I wanna see you in here asking questions more so you have a wider range of knowledge thrown at you by even more experienced people :muppet: there's more than one way to skin a cat.

Also, please update the Semperviva progress in here! This is THE place to post about them and we all wanna see your progress even if you fail.

:yeahthatsright:
