Agar in the fridge for 6 months, how is it? * 1

Hello dear shroom people!

I'm back after the summer break.

I put some agar plates in the fridge during about 6 months.
I would like to transfer to agar to reactivate these cubensis.

How are they going? which one could be usefull?

Yes, I didn't take the time to do some slants.
Next time I'll do it.

The best way to check is by transfering to new plates to verify they are still alive before putting the energy into making grain for them:mushroom2:

Edit: you can store plates at room temperature for a very long time, I've had no issue using plates that are 6+ months old. As long as the agar doesn't dry up and begin peeling away from the plate they should revive no issues. Cubes are a tropical species and ime the cold doesnt do them any favors on plates.

They're all grown way out but senescence and shit is generally not worth worrying about if you're just tryna get some shrooms. They all look pretty clean (congrats!), so make some transfers and see what takes. Not ideal but all are perfectly usable IMO.

Stuff usually doesn't bounce back crazy strong after a fridge stint like that, so you might have to do a couple rounds on low nute plates or something if you want to get it real rhyzo.

I've pulled from plates like that and revived shit after 5+ years. When I was a noob I put a bunch in the actual freezer and they still revived after years. You'll be okay.

Just take a bunch of transfers from all kinds of places (areas that pinned especially, maybe avoiding yellow metabolites since they're stressed), trying lots of stuff like that is how you'll learn to read plates.
