Not sure where this contam came from. It may have been from a plate I was trying to save out the clean myc from and the mold dragged across both plates from the lid or something. No issues with any other transfers that day. Might be a good time to clean the SAB

Thanks man, I ain't complaining even though my SAB was almost as good contamination wise, but my back is a lot more happy and I don't sweat during summer sessions :rockon:

Just finished pouring new plates after the blueberry fiasko yesterday so at least this post is relevant, I can feel Pasty breathing down my neck with all my off topic posts :uhoh:

mold spores are everywhere.  A SAB isn't sterile it limits air currents floating spores around. still gotta be careful with your movements and your plates. :rockon:

I am usually very slow and methodical in the SAB moving in and out of it and have my workspace inside logically set up for the steps I need to accomplish. I need to find some better covers for the hand holes when not in use. Contam Happens

No, but I wipe most of the lower surface with iso and wipe with an iso dampened paper towel. I also let it sit for an hour or so after putting the gear in the SAB. I do however need to get a lower rack for the bottom of the SAB

Yeah you definitely wanna get your stuff up off the bottom surface, a lil cheapo cooling rack from the dollar store is perfect, and I'd also recommend adopting the water mist, it traps whatever might be floating around in there.

How do you apply the soap and water mist?

Prior to the work sesh I'll fill a good quality spray bottle about halfway with lukewarm water and one singular drop of dishsoap. Give it a swirl to mix and then set it on the finest possible setting to get a really nice mist, then just give it a couple blasts in each arm hole and wait 15 mins or so for it to settle before doing your work.
