So far ive had a lot of contams on my agar, finally checked today to find some nice ropy rizo on a small part, can i cut that peice out now and use it to inculate with or should i wait for it to be more cononalized, just paranoid dont have much spores left and would want to lose my only dish with signs of growth.

you need to get some sort of breathable filter wraped all the way around the dish. or else contams will get in the sides as the dish heats and cools with the surrounding air. parafilm was designed to keep dishes sealed and sterile yet breathable if you wanna go the cheap route i've seen people use that 1/4 masking tape. and yes it's a good time to transfer that growth.. just make sure there aren't any contams touching it lost

well you'll want to get something to seal those dishes up or the new dish will probibly contam like all the rest. i've also read that some types of plastic wrap will work you'll have to look it up real quick as i don't remember right off hand which is best just get something.. there are a few cheap easy to find ways of sealing up those plates so they don't contam.. find one then transfer that ropy growth to a new dish.. generaly if a dish contams you want to transfer as soon as you see the contam. lost

If there are any contaminants on that dish, you need to transfer the healthy mycelium to a new dish to grow out a bit to make sure you have a clean transfer. Don't use questionable mycelium for inoculations or you risk contaminating everything downstream. RR

if u see specks of green mold or anything on a plate you want to resuce, use peroxide agar at first, then transfer new and moldfree mycelium from thereon.
i had good success with peroxide agar.
